A new Directive about health and safety at work
The new directive will provide protection to workers from over-exposure to high levels of electro-magnetic fields and waves.
It is intended to provide protection from health risks like eletric shocks and burns. Employers will need to conduct risk assessments which may result in remedial measures to reduce levels of the electro-magnetic field.
This directive will mostly affect those at risk of irradiation in heavy industries, but will also afford protection to those working for prolonged periods near TV and radio broadcast installations.
This directive is the third in a four-part package of health and safety reforms.
