On 27 September 2012, the EPHA Secretariat organised an extra-ordinary meeting of its working group on tobacco policy. The meeting aimed at discussing the soon-to-be released Commission proposal for a revision of the Tobacco Products Directive. Considering the importance of the file, the Secretariat decided to gather its members active on the issue to allow exchange on the advocacy strategy of the organisation.
The meeting, which was very well attended by group members, allowed participants to exchange ideas on what the priorities should be in terms of the content of the directive to be released and to decide the form of the public health/tobacco community’s advocacy strategy.
Unfortunately, due to the break-in of the EPHA offices in October, the minutes of the meeting will not be published. Should you have any specific questions on the file, do not hesitate to contact EPHA’s Policy Coordinator in charge of the tobacco-related issues, Doriane Fuchs at d.fuchs@epha.org
