The new EPHA Strategy reflects on the challenges posed to health advocacy in the current geopolitical moment, and clearly recognises that EPHA’s greatest results are achieved by enabling, convening, and amplifying collaborations that turn independent evidence into policy action.
Building on 30 years of health and equity advocacy, EPHA has developed its new strategic direction in close collaboration with its members and expert advisors, with formal adoption in June 2026. The new Strategy sets out the following strategic objectives for 2026-2030:
- Make health a political and crosscutting priority in Europe
- Strengthen the collective power of health civil society
- Defend the integrity of policymaking through democracy, independence, and evidence
Through the process of strategic development, we clarified EPHA’s core strengths:
- Advocacy & influence: Shaping policy with independent evidence and lived realities
- Platform & partnerships: Mobilising members and allies to collaborate and drive change
- Visibility & communications: Amplifying voices and reframing narratives for healthier societies
The new Strategy also defines core thematic priorities EPHA will focus on for 2026-2030:
- Determinants of health
- Planetary and One Health
- Democracy and civic space
We invite all who believe in a fairer, healthier, and more democratic Europe to join us in collective action across sectors, communities, and borders, realising our vision for a future where everyone’s health and wellbeing are a priority.
