The European Commission launched a call for expression of interest in becoming a member of the Stakeholder Dialogue Group. The objective of the SDG is to advise the Commission on different process issues that will facilitate stakeholder involvement in DG Health & Consumer Protection work.
Background
The Stakeholder Dialogue Group was created as a direct result of the DG SANCO 2006 Peer Review Group on Stakeholder Involvement, in September 2007.
The objective of the Stakeholder Dialogue Group is to advise the Directorate General and the European Commission on different process issues that will facilitate stakeholder involvement in DG Health & Consumer Protection work.
The Stakeholder Dialogue Group has agreed a Work Programme which will cover the following issues: more transparent comitology, improved consultation, as well understanding how the Commission could engage with stakeholder groups who may not traditionally get involved in EU policy-making, understanding who is representative and when consultation would have most impact on policy-making
