The European Commission has recently opened registration for the ‘High Level Conference on EU Health Programmes: results and future perspectives’, which will be organised jointly by the European Commission’s Directorate-General for Health and Consumers (DG SANCO) and its Executive Agency on the 3rd of May 2012.
The High Level Conference on the future of EU Health Programmes, is an opportunity to see the results and successes of the first and second Health Programmes and also have the opportunity to share views and build consensus for the future third programme referred to as the “Health for Growth” , which was released in November 2011 and is currently under discussion at the Council and the European Parliament.
It may be of interest for the public health community to attend this event and ensure that health priorities are taken into consideration in the future Health programme ensuring better and sustainable health systems and reducing health inequalities.
