Careers

EPHA is a change agent – Europe’s leading NGO alliance advocating for better health. We bring together the public health community to provide thought leadership and enable change; to build public health capacity to deliver equitable solutions to European public health challenges, such as air pollution, more affordable medicines, and the need for health-enabling food systems, to improve health and reduce health inequalities. As a member-led organisation made up of public health NGOs, patient groups, health professionals and disease groups, we work with relevant policy and decision makers to strengthen the voice of public health in Europe.

Transparency in action: EPHA’s salary scales

At EPHA, we believe that fairness begins at home. That’s why EPHA is proud to lead by example as one of the first Brussels-based NGOs to make our salary scales publicly available – building on the path paved by our colleagues at the European Environmental Bureau (EEB).

This decision is part of our broader Staff Retention Strategy 2025–2029 and reflects our commitment to equity, transparency, and accountability, not just in what we advocate, but in how we operate.

The salary scales published here are valid for the year 2025 are benchmarked and structured around clear career pathways and performance-based progression. They are part of EPHA’s Salary Alignment Plan, designed to progressively reach the upper-middle end of the Brussels NGO salary spectrum over five years. Salaries are indexed annually to protect purchasing power, in line with a legal mechanism that automatically adjusts wages to reflect increases in the cost of living, based on the health index published by the Belgian Statistical Office.

We hope this step encourages a more open and fair dialogue across the non-profit sector.
